Your Direct Sales Sponsor doesn’t matter.
Yep I said it.
If you are a Direct Sales friend you are either nodding your head in agreement with me or sitting in shock. Well I don’t apologize because I firmly believe that your sponsor doesn’t mean a dang thing in direct sales! Why? Because you own your own freaking business. There, I said that too.
In direct sales, we build successful businesses by offering people the opportunity to join our teams, in addition to selling and sharing the products that our company offers. The person that you join directly under is your sponsor *Cue Pyramid Scheme Shark Music* Don’t worry your direct sales sponsor definitely doesn’t get to sit back and make bank on your hard work without doing hard work themselves.
Yet, SO OFTEN we see people lament and get frustrated over their sponsors lack of involvement in their business. I have seen it probably HUNDREDS of times in my decade of direct sales…my sponsor sucks, my sponsor doesn’t work the business like a business, my sponsor doesn’t do X, Y or Z that makes me feel good. While I understand that sometimes we come in with a certain expectation of our sponsor relationship (assumed or proclaimed) at the end of the day…YOU OWN YOUR OWN BUSINESS.
A fabulous sponsor is simply ICING on the cake!
And your business is the CAKE! Do not let ANYONE, even your sponsor, keep you from accomplishing what you set out to do. Do not let anyone railroad you or lead you in ways you don’t wish to be led. That is the beauty of this business, a good sponsor is simply a bonus. MANY of the most successful direct sales people I know have an absentee sponsor and they are still ROCKING their businesses…because they decided not to let someone else’s actions impact THEIR success.
If you hate your sponsor, suck it up buttercup. No one owns your success except you.
