I’m Jesi, I’ve been “that girl” I have a laundry list of career moves and businesses that have brought me to this point, the time when I deep dive into teaching other women what I have learned through my own comeback story! From sorority girl to wedding planner, baby boutique business to direct sales success story, I have had quite the journey of failures and valleys that have gotten me to today.
In 2012, I joined a new Direct Sales company and took my experience in the industry, burning excitement and a passion for helping women and hit the top of the compensation plan. I lived out the dream of becoming a 6 figure earner, earned lots of amazing free trips and made magical memories with friends. On the outside, everything looked pretty amazing. On the inside, I was dealing with crippling anxiety, stress, financial fear, major brand issues and a nagging worry about the house of cards crashing down.
Crash it did, after 6 years of building with one brand, and giving it everything I had, my business started to crumble. Burnout, exhaustion, poor leadership from corporate and bad culture created a time bomb that went BOOM right into our lives. In one year, I lost over 100,000 in income. It was incredibly scary and humbling and I wasn’t sure how I was going to recover.
I pivoted into Real Estate and continued to work both full time and shifted my full time direct sales career back into side hustle mode for 2 years. We paid off debt, I lost my Dad to cancer, I lost friends, I worked three jobs one hot Oklahoma summer to make it work. It was not easy, pretty or glamorous. It was definitely not a success story. It was a deep, dark valley but it took that valley to learn, grow and realize what was really important to me and what kind of life I wanted to create for myself and my family.
In 2020, I walked away from the brand I had been a part of for 8 years. I left behind a team of over 3000 men and women, top leadership perks and special treatment because I felt deep in my soul that it was the right thing to do. I aligned myself with a new skincare company and continued working full time in real estate. In our first few weeks at my next network marketing company my team rank advanced 5 times and broke records. But old wounds don’t heal unless we do the work to heal them. Joining a new brand was fun, exciting and gave me hope but I still struggled with the experience I had gone through in losing my previous business and income so dramatically. Over time I embraced the concept that healing is more important than hustle. Alignment is more in tune than achievement. Therapy is a tool that everyone can benefit from.
As my soul tuned in to what felt right and I listened to what God had for me I decided to move forward with open hands and an open heart. I cannot wait to see what God does next in my journey.
