Summer Fun List- A Work at Home Mama Hack for Surviving the Summer
Ahhh summer for the WAHM! 
The exciting part is not waking up early and rushing around to get kids out the door. You get to forget about backpacks, lunches, signed paper, permission slips, notecards, library books and special snacks for a few months. The least exciting part is when your kids are screaming at each other and you no longer have any time to get anything done.
Work at Home Mama’s I know you can relate to the craziness of trying to juggle keeping your kids happy and entertained while attempting to keep your business up and running in the summer months.
The J months as we call them in Direct Sales are already on the low end of the totem pole. Add kids at home all day and it’s a recipe for one overwhelmed and irritable mom. Insert the Summer Fun List.
One of my most popular WAHM Hacks, the summer fun list details out a lengthy list of “ideas” to tame the summer boredom.
Many are cheap, several are free and mom gets to decide what makes the list. We sit down at the beginning of summer and I took suggestions from the family to make our list. Some things did not make the cut (Australia anyone?) and I gently “suggested” others that fit into our existing summer plans.
Now here’s the deal, you have to train your kids that you will not be choosing an item every single day of summer, its just a starting point.
You can choose how involved your kids are in picking activities for the week! Our family takes Mondays off as our rest day. We try to do 1-2 things each week. I also save one activity per week to enjoy with Dad on his days off. In order to get the privilege of picking a summer fun list item, all chores have to be done. In addition they allow me designated work time in my office at home in the mornings.
I have coffee and get a few hours of work done. When they get antsy, they start working on their chores and I start wrapping up work for the day. More often than not, we are parked at the pool doing a whole lot of nothing! The Summer Fun List gives us a starting point to remember what fun activities we have around our community and keeps us on track to making memories without breaking the bank.
