10 Day Recruiting Refresh: Day 2
Creating Your Dream Team List
Let’s talk about your Dream Team! This is a concept I have used for many years in my Direct Sales business and it works. It’s a little bit crazy, and a little bit magic but it actually does work.
What is a Dream Team List?
A Dream Team List is your list of everyone that you would LOVE to have on your team in your business. One of the most important parts of creating your Dream Team list is that you don’t prejudge or think about any objections when making your list. If you think they would be amazing in this business, simply write their name down. It doesn’t do ANY harm to write down someone’s name, you don’t have to contact every single person, but something in the Universe starts to shift when you write down EVERY name. Your Dream Team list should be very intentional and it’s a proactive approach to recruiting in your business.
How many people should I write on my Dream Team list?
I have played around with the number on my Dream Team list over the years. I teach and train my team to have 150 people on their Dream Team list at all times. I know for some of you that seems overwhelming. If that is true for you, go back to the roots of our business. Networking. This is a business of relationships and you have to be open and willing to making new connections, friends, and relationships ALL the time.
Where do I find people to write down?
Start with a FRANK list. FRANK stands for Friends, Relatives, Acquaintances, Neighbors, Kids. These are simply memory jogger categories that help you write down the names of people that you would not immediately think of. Second, I recommend you utilize your personal social media account. Go through your friends list and use that to jog your memory as well. Believe me, I do NOT believe in using your personal social media for spamming ANYONE. However, the crux of our business is networking. If you don’t have many friends on social media, you need to start adding and networking in that avenue. Build relationships first, but go ahead and write down those names that jump out at you and make you think, YES! She would be amazing.
Other places to jog your memory? Your wedding invitation list, kids birthday party guest lists, Christmas Card lists, this is to get you thinking outside the box and thinking about people outside of the same 5 people you have been trying to recruit for the past 6 months.
Keep your Dream Team list updated.
When I hit a recruiting lull in my business, my husband ALWAYS asks me if I have done my Dream Team list lately. He knows it works!
